XAVIER CHEUNG

THE BOY, FORLORN

A soul entwined with the threads of both humanity and the spirit realm. From the moment of his birth, his presence bore the marks of an ancient lineage, and his existence was a testament to the elusive connection between realms.

The community he called home, nestled within the embrace of ancient forests and murmuring streams, couldn't fathom the depths of his uniqueness. To them, Xavier was an anomaly, an unsettling reminder of the unknown.

ZHOU HUIYING

THE FALLEN PRINCE

A blessed prince raised in the shadow of one older than he with a destiny he was more or less content with. Though mischievous in nature, he was capable in his work, leaving no room for criticism from his advisors though they detested his antics.

The day his brother died was the day his path deviated from that which he had once been told it should be. Stripped of his standing, his divinity, and his heart, the rest of his life was lived mired in revenge.

ALWAYS & FOREVER

AN AU STORY

A&F is an <AU> (alternate universe) story that imagines what it might be like if the roles between Xavier and Huiying were switched: with Xavier being the Prince and Huiying, the outcast.

The story follows Huiying: a local witch who lives a peaceful life in the depths of a haunted weald. Peaceful though it is, it gets quite boring after the first hundred years of the same routine -- at least, that's what he thought until unexpected guests show up at his doorstep...

Where did this story start
and where will it go?
While the story itself has not ended, the fragments scatter themselves before you:
A song known only to us two

THE SCORNED PRINCE OF THE SUN

Not a single poster was published when the prince disappeared, for there was not one of his subjects who sought to find where he went. Who could blame them? The little sun shone so brightly in their eyes every morning, burnt their backs as they worked in the fields, dried their wells and spoilt their food. He was someone who burnt much too bright to inherit the title, someone too unbending to their will.

The little sun ran and ran for as far as his feet, now marred with the kisses of the branches and the earth, would take him. He ran as shining stars fell from his eyes, burning the ground beneath him. Perhaps, he thought to himself, he could survive a solitary life; do away with all the silken robes that chained him and live normally, disguised as no more than a boy.

He didn't know -- no, he could not have known -- that someone such as he could not lead such a life amongst humans.

THE WITCH OF THE WEALD

Within the depths of the tenebrous weald resides a Witch whose scales are a deep verdigris that blend seamlessly into the shadows of the brush. They say he arrived many a year ago clothed only by rags and grime, but I remember that neath the muck that coated his person shone a silk I'd only ever seen used by nobles.

He was but a hatchling, then, barely molted as he slithered into the depths. By the next week, he came into the town claiming he was an apothecary.

In all my years of living here, though, I've never seen a soul buy his wares. Rather, they pay him to transcribe their words, for he has the most beautiful penmanship this town has known.

–From the account of an Elderly villager that lived by the outskirts of the Weald
